+++ Ernst von Siemens Music Prize for Friedrich Cerha +++

On 22 June, the Austrian composer who celebrated his 85th birthday last year will receive the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize, often called the "Nobel Prize for Music".

The awards ceremony at Munich's Cuvillié-Theater will include a performance of Friedrich Cerha's Bruchstück, geträumt with the Ensemble Modern under the composer's direction.

Friedrich Cerha will receive the prestigious award from the president of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Dieter Borchmeyer. The music editor of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Peter Hagmann will give a speech in the prize-winner's honour.
